Review of Redbelt (2008) by Ryan C — 01 Sep 2008
A wonderful story of jiu-jitsu as it was not mixed martial arts as it was simply jiu-jitsu but as a fan I still enjoyed it the storyline was really well done in the master mike terry keeps getting screwed over and in the hole time and time again and losing his newest black belt along the way and the only chance he has to get some money is a setup anyway so he takes on the business owner and top main event fighter and wins to receive the redbelt from a great master who watched the fight so a great storyline well written and had a good solid direction and wasnt hard to miss out on the points at hand the martial arts aspect was spaced out and there could have been more scenes consisting of martial arts but what hey had was just as good the directing was good but the camera angles were a little off on some scenes and especially in the fight scenes but the scenes were well put together and had a solid base to it and the acting was well done on chiwetel ejiofors part and he really gve off the aspect of honour and justice like a true martial artist so it was nice to see and it was also well done by the supporting cast as well and it was nice to see some fighters like randy couture frank trigg josh raffety and mike goldberg so it was a good movie had some errors and had room for improvement but a great martial arts film and should be seen by any action film lovers.
