Review of Redbelt (2008) by Melvin H — 12 Apr 2009
This is a modern day samurai movie without the swords. The theme of honor runs throughout the whole movie. The fight choreography in this movie is great but the story and dialogue can stand on its own.
Mike Terry is an ideal hero. Some may say he's too pious or maybe even unrealistic. I think its just a symptom of the times when almost every other movie that comes out features ANTI-HEROS. Its almost like society is unable to root for heros anymore.
Anyway, its a great movie. PLEASE, watch it in 1080P if you can. Cinematography was BEAUTIFUL.
