Review of Redacted (2007) by Neil T — 27 Jul 2008

Redacted is a handycam movie about the American warcrimes in Samarra Iraq during 2006. The movie is based on real events which brings weight to the movie, but sadly the strong message is poorly presented for the audience.

The movie is heavily based on actor performances and this is the area where the movie is lacking. There are some good scenes, but they are too few and too far a part to save the whole movie. Some of the key actors just are not up for the task.

In the end I cannot help to feel that this movie should have been made as a document instead of a movie.
