Review of Redacted (2007) by Andrew U — 11 Aug 2008
Brian De Palma's look at the war and the media that portrays it in different ways employs now token reality cam but without using actors that can act accordingly. The characters feel as though they've stepped out of a off-off-Broadway play and the French documentary team are wasted and make no point.
Even the Youtube and Al-Jazeera mock-ups look unconvincing. A shame, because De Palma's point is a good one but his film wastes an opportunity to make it.
