What was DePalma thinking? Rather than create a balanced viewpoint on the recent events in Iraq, he finished a piece of anti-military propaganda that regards soldiers as hideous, hillbilly idiots. War is hell? No sh*t, Sherlock DePalma.
It's only in the final sequences do we understand that in his very hamfisted way, DePalma was trying to bring some kind of 'Hollywood' balance to the War on Terror. The major error being that before these sequences, the preceding faux documentary is so awfully directed (namely POVs and camera angles with no established source) it's unbelieveable Redacted comes from the same director of Scarface and The Untouchables.
Hopefully his next project will be far less insulting...
