Review of Red White & Blue (2010) by Michael M — 27 Sep 2010
The Red White and Blue is one of those rare gems that was a super low budget film that works on every front. Director Simon Rumley blends the themes of loss of innocence, lust, redemption, and revenge perfectly in this Kids meets Dead Man's Shoes film.
A young girl goes out night after night to shack up with every guy she meets, she also has to find a job to pay for the half house that she is staying at which she finds thanks to the help of a drifter that has just moved into the same house.
The ever building feeling of dread that the film creates is amazing with it's extremely low budget, but due to the help of a strong cast, good writing, and expert directing these goals can be achieved.
Shot entirely in Austin, TX.
