Review of Red Tails (2012) by William S — 05 Jun 2012
The movie quickly looses interest when the handful of men seemingly become the reason for all the success during WWII, when in truth it was the combined efforts of all the Air Force for winning and keeping the Germans from dominating the sky's.
It's typical that Hollywood can take historical fact and turn it into a historical fallacy. Nothing in this movie seemed truthful from the time period and of the Tuskegee Airmen of the time, major historical facts were thrown out when Lucas decided to make it using his sci-fi success.
Should we remind Lucas that he should stick to sci-fi from now on and let movies like this up to people who know what they are doing with historical movies such as Steven Spielberg, Tom Hanks, and Clint Eastwood, at least they shown us they have successful ways of making a historical movie with great detail and truth, while maintaining a fictional character or plot line within a historically accurate time period, or by using a historically accurate story and recreating it perfectly on screen.
