Review of Red Tails (2012) by James W — 27 Feb 2013
Even if you don't like the movie you have to admit that the visuals are highly impressive, the dog fights look very realistic and it's loaded with jet propelled action sequences. But Red Tails doesn't fly smoothly the whole time, the acting is a bit of a mixed bag, sometimes it's fine then the next it's wobbly and rather embarrassing, made even more cringeworthy due to some really cheesy dialogue and lines.
Ne-yo's performance is a bit of a shocker, because of that dreadful accent he puts on, but Terrence Howard is as good as always. Predictable and corny, yet still enjoyable, Red Tails is a decent watch.
It has to be said the action scenes, although they may get repetitive, is where the film succeeds the most.
