Review of Red State (2011) by Simon P — 09 Feb 2012
Michael Parks' performance as an ultra-right wing preacher is one of the most entertainingly sickening portrayals of wrongness you could ever hope to see. Just brilliant. This is a film detour for Kevin Smith, it certainly isn't fine tuned but it's a fanboy frenzy of sex, violence, hatred, fear and politics.
John Goodman lends his effortless class to the proceedings of this self-promoted and quickly shot low-budget independent flick.
