Review of Red State (2011) by Stuart C — 25 Feb 2012
Kevin Smith has taken a completely new direction with Red State. It's not going to be a favourite with his fans, but it's a decent movie. Tackling issues such as religious extremism, it doesn't hold back and takes you to some very uncomfortable places.
Great performance from Michael Parks who rocked as Esteban in Kill Bill 2, he has a similar presence here. Its also good to see John Goodman back on the screen. It's not as controversial as it could have been, but Smith throws in some gore for good measure.
