Review of Red State (2011) by Alexander B — 16 Sep 2012
The movie completely rides on the fact that the performers are obviously amazing at what they do instead of attempting to tell a story of substance. Feels like a lot of ideas are thrown together at random and none of the ideas get fleshed out enough to make this anything beyond a reminder that Michael Parks and John Goodman are top-notch.
There's still enough there to make this worth a watch, though.
