Red State is not as clever as I hoped it'd be, and the ending is a consummate disappointment. In its favour, Red State is very unusual and often surprises in terms of plot development, which I'd say is a tremendous credit.
Overall, it doesn't quite deliver as an action film, nor have a competent enough commentary to make a salient point, but is otherwise perfectly good for a relatively small budget.
