Review of Red State (2011) by A.d. V — 28 Dec 2011

I'm fairly confused as to why this is classified under horror. Yes, some of the things are unsettling, but it's intention is not to scare us in the way a "horror" movie would. The movie centers around a cult like, jesus freak family, who are so opposed to gay people they catch them and kill them in their church.

Pretty shocking stuff, but horror? no. That may sound like horror to you, but just watch it, it's not. I recommend it for the simple fact that it's one of a kind. "People just do the strangest things when they believe they're entitled.

But they do even stranger things when they just plain believe." That quote sums up this movie.
