Review of Red State (2011) by Ydnar4 — 03 Sep 2014
Red State is a movie that you would never expect from Kevin Smith, the man behind the comedy classic Clerks, but he has not completely done wrong in creating this film. Despite all the craziness in the film it some how if feels like it could happen in real life so easily.
Michael Parks did a great job as Abin Cooper. However his monologue early in the film is a little two drug out for my liking and it is hard to keep interest. The ending did really catch me by surprise.
There is a unexpected twist in the end. Although this is not the most perfect Kevin Smith film, I would definitely consider watching another Smith movie in this genre. Red State has some potential but sadly it doesn't reach it.
