Review of Red Sparrow (2018) by Paul S — 27 Mar 2018
Spy movies, if reflecting reality, are not meant to be obvious. Don't tear your hair out assessing it against meaningless parameters, just be happy it's not you that belongs to the state. If you think this is far fetched, you should read some relevant material on the subject. Say Chapman Pincher or Grenville Wynne's harrowing experiences. For a an attempt on a controversial subject, I look forward, unusually, to a follow up. I could stomach the acting and arguably uninspired scripts, but then it just made it more real to.
Me. A grown ups movie in all senses.
