Review of Red Sparrow (2018) by Richard Y — 24 Apr 2018

I think this was supposed to be some wierdo's version of female empowerment. More like a 40+ year olds wank fantasy for Jennifer Lawrence. First passengers and now this - I'm getting a bit worried about our leading lady here - I'm just hoping she's finding this films as some kind of cathartic way of working through the whole fappening ridiculousness.

For a spy thriller its pretty frigging dull and predictable - at least passengers was more original. There's not really much else to say other than it has about 3 rape scenes - so if you want to see women being subjugated and exploited for very flimsy reasons I suppose this is the film for you?? .

..Personally I would recommend therapy but that's just me I guess. My overall feelings about this film falls somewhere between meh and yuck.
