Review of Red Road (2006) by Scott F — 18 Jan 2008
Over hyped and over done. Glasgow? hmmm lets see...lets show it as run down, struggling against the elements, tough living and grey. the grey bit is right mind you. a nothing story and if you listen to the interviews afterwards from the producer you realise by the way she waffles, contradicts herself and fails to finish a sentence when she realises what she says contradicts the movie.
the cast actually say she gave them a lot of freedom to ad lib and change things- as it was her first film id say that is because she hadn't a clue. if you want to spend a few hours watching a nothing film clichéd and dragging then this is the one for you.
..but like all art people are afraid to say its crap for fear of looking stoopit!!Cannes? ha! 2 stars! and that's only for the gratuitous nudity!! whoo hoo!!
