Review of Red Road (2006) by Iain M — 12 Jun 2008
A disturbing, not-quite-revenge flick set in Glasgow. I'm docking this one half a star because the version I saw, on The Movie Network in Canada, had SUBTITLES, even though everyone was speaking ENGLISH!!!! (And, curiously, I detected hardly any Scottish idioms in the dialogue.
Apart from the accents, the language was almost indistinguishable from North American -- the result of some distressing cultural levelling, no doubt.).
