Review of Red Road (2006) by Paul D — 02 Mar 2009
Strongly reminiscent of Atom Egoyan's "Exotica", though not in quite the same class. Powerful and very intense, with an outstanding central performance. The sense of place is very strong.
Some subtle sub-plots which enhanced the main storyline and gave it added impact, in particular the man with the sick bulldog. But minus a half-star for the diabolical cover version of "love will tear us apart" at the end.
