Review of Red River (2011) by Issac L — 31 Oct 2013
A cattle empire owner and his adoptive son undertake a massive cattle drive to avoid financial ruin; but the road is dangerous and even leads the two to obsession and rivalry. Another fine western by Howard Hawks, with the usual well balancing of action, drama and romance; John Wayne's performance is a stand out as he plays one of his most complex characters and to top it off there is a lot of tension between him and Montgomery Clift.
