Review of Red Riding Hood (2011) by Dj C — 10 Feb 2013
You can instantly tell that this was directed by the same person who directed Twilight; corny monologues and unnecessary brooding stares are aplenty in this film. The focus is on the love story rather than on the werewolf threat, which makes for uncomfortable watching thanks to flat performances from virtually every cast member.
Even the normally magnetic Gary Oldman can't save this. Thankfully, the shallowness of the plot allows for easy viewing, so that it is less remembered for the wrong reasons. Definitely not the finest fairy-tale adaptation ever, but it could have been worse.
