Stupid? Yes! Enjoyably stupid? Not really. Amanda Seyfried is the only one not over or under acting in this entire movie. Not only that, but it tries to do things to try to tie it back to the original story when you can tell they really don't care.
The writer and director would rather highlight the "original" material.
