Review of Red Lights (2012) by Evan A — 13 Jul 2013
I've always wanted physic abilities. I think they are so cool. Too bad for this movie though. It doesn't take advantage of a good story and instead abandons the movie's theme for something far too complex and idiotic to be of any interest.
While the concept is interesting and fairly original, the movie itself is brought down by a jumpy plot and bad script. Also, while the film does have some good actors to spare, their performances are overshadowed by underdeveloped characters that just don't act the part.
The movie THINKS that it's smart and clever, but it's quite the opposite. The film is a desperate attempt at a thriller with predictable twists, unnecessary scenes, and questionable intellect.
Probably the worst part of the whole movie is the ending. It's so undetailed and unneeded that in the end the big surprise is just a big stupid joke. Confusing, boring, and overly ambitious, Red Lights is a waste of talent by the actors and time by the writers.
Whoever wrote/thought this movie up I wish them luck in their career. If they thought for maybe another few hours they might have stopped themselves before thinking that somebody would actually enjoy this movie!
