Review of Red Lights (2012) by George D — 07 Oct 2012
I liked Rodrigo Cortes' first film, Buried, and was interested what he would do to follow that up and this film didn't disappoint. The cast is great with Cillian Murphy, Robert De Niro, Sigourney Weaver, Toby Jones, and Elizabeth Olsen.
Cillian Murphy carries the film and is great in this role. The film has two really distinct halves and even though I liked the first half more; the second half wasn't too bad and was saved by a twist ending which I didn't see coming even though when I look back I should have.
The film reminds me of The Prestige and The Illunionist, even though those two were about magicians. Overall this film is pretty solid and I liked the twists the film takes and I did really enjoy the final twist.
