This is a good, if not a great, film -- I found it much more interesting than another recent suspense flick, The Woman in Black which received a fresh rating. Some have found the ending to be incongruous with the rest of the film, but I felt the entire movie was pointing toward something of the sort.

I even got an inkling of what was really going on, although I was never quite sure, so at the end I was pleased with myself for guessing correctly, without having been so sure I was right that it spoiled the movie.

(That happened with Angels and Demons.) And oh how nice to see Burn Gorman playing a decent role in a decent motion picture, thus wiping away the ignominy of The Oxford Murders. Sigourney Weaver played her usual type of role.

..if you usually like her you'll enjoy her in this. Elizabeth Olsen was the surprise for me...she comes across as an intelligent ingenue. Cillian Murphy put me off with his too-pretty looks at first but his performance won me over.
