Review of Red Hill (2010) by Brian S — 22 Sep 2018
You may think that this Australian neo western is just a popcorn movie, but it actually has a little more heart than you may think, as well as a tiny bit of satire on the mistreat of Aborigines over the centuries.
But overall, it's still a bloody shoot-em-up revenge western, with some of the death scenes being over acted, which is just very cringe worthy, and some scenes are just tedious, and the editing isn't spectacular.
But Ryan Kwanten is good in the lead, and the flick is surprisingly well shot. But something just tells me that this flick ain't what it could've been. Overall, it's not the best western I've ever seen, but it's descent gory fun for the most part.
