Review of Red-Headed Woman (1932) by Cam S — 12 Aug 2007
Jesus H Christ. Jean Harlow portrays such a heartless bitch. Her character is completely and utterly unsympathetic and she does NOT receive what would normally come to her. Thus the film departs from post-code (and basically every Hollywood picture ever made, in that the evildoer is left unpunished and actually flourishes because of their evil.
Certainly not a great film, but extremely interesting to anyone with an interest in classic Hollywood films and/or pre/post-code differences. Harlow really works to make you hate her as well.
