Review of Red Eye (2005) by Winfield W — 08 May 2010
Wam bam Boom. That is exactly what this film felt like. After about a 15 minute introduction this movie takes off and flies with the bad guy playing his female hostage so intricately (sp) it is art to simply watch.
The movie runs short, almost too short at 85 mins and could easily go on for another 30 mins.
No matter this movie proves two things. One, a PG-13 horror movie can be scary and not just Dawsons Creek and two, Wes Craven returned to horror form with this tight thriller. Wes later bombed with Hills Have Eyes 2 remake (he ex-produced Alex Aja's Hills Have Eyes which was amazing). I really hope Scream 4 and 25/8 prove just as good (latter PG-13).
