Review of Red Eye (2005) by John W — 03 Aug 2010
Red Eye has a great setup and for the first hour really delivers on suspense and tension. Sadly, once they exit the plane they also exit the plot.
The tone of the movie changes to something close to Home Alone. Cillian Murphy, who had been brilliant up to now as a ruthless facilitator for assasins is reduced to running around falling over things, cue laughter.
The film had so much potential but it seemed afraid to go for a better ending that it deserved.
