Review of Red Eye (2005) by Denise S — 09 Aug 2010
As a big fan of McAdams and Murphy, and a moderate fan of Craven, I was very disappointed. The premise is alone is already nothing special and the actual screenplay is far too run-of-the-mill and it all makes for a typical, predictable wannabe thriller that maybe could've shocked audiences in the early '90s alongside of the anticlimactic over-cliched "Speed".
I'm glad that this was only the beginning of McAdams and Murphy's careers seeing as how they were the only truly interesting thing within "Red Eye". As far as Craven goes, he needs to pack a lot more heat in the future if he wants to keep up with todays industry moguls.
