Although quite good, except for Edward Norton, this movie is pointless! Manhunter already tells this story and was a much better film. Producers just wanted to make it with Anthony Hopkins as Hannibal, rather than Brian Cox, so they had a sense of continuity which is stupid as these films don't have much continuity to begin with so why bother? Money!
