Review of Red Dragon (2002) by Benjamin B — 08 Sep 2013
Although the producers claimed this wasn't a "remake" of Michael Mann's 1986 film "Manhunter", it certainly felt like one. And with some notable improvements. Edward Norton isn't quite able to convey Agent Graham's tortured psyche the way William Petersen did.
But his performance is formidable nonetheless, and Hopkins, Keitel and Fiennes comprise a much stronger supporting cast. Along with the improved cast, better pacing and a much more satisfying climax make this my favorite of the two.
