Review of Red Dragon (2002) by Rina N — 04 Jan 2010
The cast is very good, but the problem is that this adaptation of "Red Dragon" by Thomas Harris tries to fit all of the plot in which the earlier adaptation "Manhunter" does not.
Trying to fit vital scenes in, the character development lacks with characters like Jack, but it unlike "Manhunter" it gives the back story to Frances. This while helping understand why he is what he is, creates a plot that has to make too many cuts too quickly to develop the entire story.
Besides the rush I did enjoy the plot and some characters like Hoffman's were a slight improvement than the original.
