Review of Red Dragon (1965) by Austin A — 12 Nov 2009
It's ambitious to try and create a Lecter film to compete with "Silence of the Lambs" (as seen in the disaster that was "Hannibal"...ugh), but Red Dragon sure comes close. It helps to have an OUTSTANDING cast including Hopkins, Norton, Keitel (!!!), Hoffman, and a breakout performance from Fiennes.
These inspired roles certainly carry a film with an only slightly above-average plotline (picture an episode of CSI, only it doesn't suck and it's stretched for two hours). Still a must-see for fans of "Silence", which would be most people.
