Review of Red Dragon (1965) by Tero H — 17 Oct 2012
Starts interestingly but then loses it's touch, probably because the movie is so long, watering down the interesting start into less than scary stuff. The acting is great though: Hopkins, Norton, Fiennes, Keitel, Watson are all pro actors.
The plot is interesting and Hannibal Lecter is an interesting horror-movie character. I saw the movie in the theatre and then on dvd and tv. The movie fails perhaps as a 'horror'-movie, because it didn't scare that much, but works really well as a crime thriller. Its only weakness is its slow pace and predictability, but its pluses are the acting and the thrilling story.
