Review of Red Dawn (2012) by Andrew T — 25 Nov 2013
While the film is serviceable, it suffers from a too-brisk pace that allows some important information and character development to fall to the cutting room floor. It does provide an interesting critique on the home front-invasion theme, raising interesting (if intentional) comparisons to the USA's intervention in other nations' affairs.
Unfortunately, this critique is wrapped in pretty paper and is tied up in a neat bow, missing the opportunities to capitalize on the gray areas of doing what is right at the expense of others.
