Where to begin on this one. First off the movie was shelved for a couple years because of MGM's financial problems and since they changed the main bad guys from Chinese to North Koreans. If your confused by that last quote google the movie and you'll find out why they did this.
The cgi early on looks super shitty because it's all just thrown together. The acting isn't anything to get crazy about and characters progression is pretty much non existent. Simply put I never cared for any of the characters.
The action was actually decent, but we never find out truly why the North Koreans chose certain families to hold hostage, or why they were even there in the first place. The movie is a rent and only a rent if your bored.
..I'd say truly skip it.
