Review of Red Dawn (2012) by Cristian M — 03 Dec 2013
Recently decided to watch this flick because I was bored and I was on Netflix. That being said I was bored, and I've actually never fully seen the original Red Dawn so I'm not going to review it as a remake but as the film itself. So here we go.
Red Dawn. Knowing it's a remake but again, haven't seen it so just gonna do it from what I saw. Film stars Chris Hemsworth as a marine back from duty, he has a brother played by Josh Peck and they don't have the greatest bond of brotherhood. Soon after the invasion by North Koreans begins, helped out by Russia by the way and the two brothers along with other familiar faces run off into the woods and try to survive this war in there back yard.
How does the film do? It's not that great. A lot if mindless action and tons of explosions and the acting isn't even that great. The director I suppose did the best he could from what he had, never really had my full attention which is really bad. I felt like the character of Josh could have been played by anyone, even Shia Leabof could have done a much better job.
That being said, not a great movie, very uninteresting and oh yeah, the film just ends like they're gonna be a sequel or they didn't know how to end it. God forbid not another sequel cause it was just terrible and boring and it really could have had a lot of potential. Shame.
