Review of Red Dawn (1984) by Neal T — 26 Aug 2008
If you take this film seriously, you are a gun-nut survivalist weirdo. The plot is so ludicrously stupid: The Soviet Union, plus allies from Cuba and South America, invades the US, but Swayze and his mates thwart them at every turn by ambushing tanks in the mountains and whatnot.
Actually I have to admit I do get drawn into this movie, its one of my favourites. If you can ignore the politically dubious, blatently patriotic, we-should-have-guns-to-protect-ouselves-from-the-red-army-when-they-invade message, this movie is a lot of fun.
A bit like Top Gear.
