Review of Red Dawn (1984) by Scott J — 15 Oct 2008
This was probably an awesome movie when it was released in 1984. By today's standards, it's still very good, and it's influence remains on the war and action genres. It also has elements of sacrifice and loss.
Much of it is unrealistic, including the Russian invasion style and some of the combat. Any real war between the Soviet Union and the United States would have definitely been a full scale nuclear exchange. Why were paratroopers, far away from any supply lines, wasting ammo on civilians?
