Jed Eckert (Swayze): How did you get shot down, Colonel?

Col. Andy Tanner (Powers Boothe): It was five to one. I got four.

I understand that this is kind of a cult-classic, but I think I'm few years too late on this because I just found this movie too campy and not in the enjoyable sense either. The idea is kind of interesting especially when you take into account the time-line: Cuban missle crisis and the cold war with the Soviets, one can really see the influence that fueled a movie like this and I can appreciate that. Unfortunately, the acting left much to be desired and you can tell that the cast were some of the big name stars in the '80s too; but all their performances were laughable at best. It was interesting to finally watch it because of all the hub-bub that surrounds it, but unfortunately no amount of nostalgia made this an enjoyable film to watch, not even in the Mystery-Science-Theatre way.
