Review of Red Dawn (1984) by Jesse R — 29 Jun 2013
This film can really scare the crap out of you, because as the quote reads "In our time, no foreign army has ever occupied American soil. Until now." For events in this movie to actually occur, does put a chill down your spine.
Russian and Cuban forces tag together to invade the United States of America and take it over, region by region. A group of teens escape to the mountains, survive, and fight back to take their country back.
They take the name of their high school mascot 'Wolverines' as Jed (Patrick Swayze) and his younger brother Matt (Charlie Sheen) lead the group. The film also stars Lea Thompson as Erica and Toni (Jennifer Grey), which both her and Swayze three years later would star together in the movie 'Dirty Dancing' I thought this was a good film and something different for 1984.
I didn't realize it, but this was actually the very first PG13 film.
