Review of Red Cliff (2008) by Ivan A — 02 Nov 2009
This movie is a big bowl of concentrated awesome, John Woo at his best.
It is epic in proportions, and battle scenes are just awesome. They never get dull or boring, and look like a real treat for both military tactic nuts and martial arts nuts. Expositions are also well done, they dont drag for too long and give very good amounts of data and charater development and are overall enjoyable. And I especially like the fact that its made by real historic event and not by fiction. Some speciall effects were a little missed but that doesnt mater really. Overall this movie is a masterpiece and I hope that asian film industry will make more masterpieces like this one.
