Review of Red Cliff (2008) by Seth L — 28 Dec 2009
John woo returns home to direct this monumental war epic from an era when battles were won with arrows and shields and spears and horses. the fighting scenes are spectacular. and beautifully paced with the human interactions of emperors, war strategists, musicians - and the women who influence them all.
wasn't bored for a second and was completly mesmerized from begining to end. cinematrography beautiful, score just right, and dead-on precision editing. this is one of the better movies I saw this year.
