Review of Red Beard (1965) by Andrew K — 14 Apr 2008
Kurosawa is a master at drawing his audience into the lives of his characters. Red Beard, much like Ikuru is a deeply emotional, and thought provoking film. He shows us complexities, sorrows, and joys in each of his characters.
Through it all you have a beautifully shot film that's occasionally breathtakingly picturesque. I highly recommend this if you love Kurosawa or great films in general.
