Review of Red Beard (1965) by Jeffrey M — 25 Jul 2009
Great film about the human condition and human relationships. The stories presented are very well done albeit very emotional and even sad. The last one being particularly the saddest but also very good.
All in all very well done but of course that's what we expect from Kurosawa. Also, Mifune isn't necessarily a main character in this film as there are a lot of people examined in this clinic for poor people because they don't have enough money to go to the hospitals for the rich and those in power.
Also the decision at the end is kind of foreseeable due to the lessons that get learned in the film.
