Review of Red Army (2015) by Scott S — 22 Oct 2014
Endlessly fascinating whether or not you like hockey, Russian history or documentaries. Not just "the other side" of the Lake Placid Olympics, Gabe Polsky got 15 minutes with Russia's Minister of Sport and ended up shooting 8 hours with the engaging and enigmatic Slava Fetisov.
Sharply edited, incisive and emotionally involving. It is no coincidence the great Werner Herzog is listed as executive producer, this is one of the best documentaries ever made.
