Well, I don't know about everyone else, but I thoroughly enjoyed RED. Of the recent movies, I have also seen the Town and Easy A, mainly due to the positive ratings here on RT, and I liked RED more than either of them.

The first, most obvious thing about the film is that the cast is perfect. We are given Bruce Willis, Morgan Freeman, John Malkovich, Helen Mirren, Mary-Louise Parker, and that guy from Lord of the Rings (Karl Urban).

I will admit, the main reason I wanted to see RED in the first place was the appeal of Helen Mirren wielding a machine gun in an evening gown (which was just as awesome as I thought it'd be), but everyone in the cast charmed, and the action scenes, while a bit out-there, were all loads of fun.

Bruce Willis was in his element, Morgan Freeman was likable as ever, although had far too small of a role, John Malkovich was pretty brilliant, and I loved the choice of Mary-Louise Parker as the "damsel" of the film. Her character easily could have been annoying if played by many other actresses. I even had a soft spot for our "villain", played by Karl Urban. He was realistic, which I liked, and given more character than your typical action-movie antagonist.

Aside from the brilliant cast, the script was witty and fun, the film was visually-appealing, and the story was decent and easy to follow.

RED isn't a perfect film, but it is a well done action-comedy and an entertaining ride that I would definitely recommend to anyone.
