Review of Red (1996) by Mike L — 06 Oct 2012
Does every Bruce Willis movie start with him waking up looking pained and giving some sour expression as he drinks his breakfast. A decent action comedy with enough action and intrigue at the first half to keep you interested even if Mary Louise Parker's wide-eyed Weeds look is annoying.
The ending was not satisfying since the Richard Dreyfus character was not developed enough so that we could build hatred toward him. The choice of the VP character was a major letdown as all I could think was Doctor Doom, that's the big bad guy, really.
Either choose a comedian like Will Ferrell or a small geeky guy like Seth Green and the juxtaposition works better but as it is I was disappointed in the outcome. The main actors are fine in what they are asked to do which in this case is average.
