Review of Recoil (2012) by Michael S — 05 Jul 2013
A by the numbers action flick with Steve Austin playing a former cop turned vigilante who rocks up in small border town, in this case the Canadian border, run by Danny Trejo's drug and gun running biker gang. It's not exactly brimming with originality or any new ideas and its been done better in dozens of action flicks and westerns over the years. Having said that Austin is a solid lead, even if his acting is questionable and he's let down with some slow, uneven and poorly edited fight scenes. Trejo, knows the score mind he's done loads of films worse than this and may better, he chews up the scenery like an old pro.
One to watch late at night with more than a couple of beers.
